The Irish Independent, 22 July 2003:
The six were killed
on the same day as multiple bomb attacks in Dublin. The request was
made by Monaghan Town Council after a motion in the names of all the councillors
was unanimously carried. The council
requested that pursuant to Section 24 of the Coroner's Act - used recently to
direct resumption of inquests into the deaths of the Dublin victims - a similar
direction should apply in relation to those who died in the Monaghan attack. Monaghan Town
